Somewhere, Flowers began with a vase of white blooms and wandered off from there—as paintings sometimes do when left unsupervised. Painted in oils, the flowers emerge through layers of pink, green, blue and scraped-back color, somewhere between still life and abstraction. The painting eventually did some wandering of its own and now lives in a private collection in Brazil.
